What is a wood debarker?
A wood debarker is an industrial machine used for mechanically separating bark and impurities from the surface of round wood — from both coniferous and deciduous trees. This is most often done through milling or a system of rotating knives.
Its task is to prepare the raw material for further processing in a repeatable and controlled manner.
How does a milling debarker work?
A milling debarker uses a head equipped with carbide knives that mechanically cut the bark from the surface of the log.
- Effectively removes bark along with impurities
- Dedicated to coniferous wood (pine, spruce, fir) and deciduous wood (oak, beech, poplar)
- Allows precise surface cleaning
- Ensures high repeatability of the process
